Description

► BASIC INFO
Name: Johanne "Jo" Liberté
Age: Died at the age of 20. Currently 25.
Birthday: Died at April 30th, the day of "The Burning of the Witches". Doesn't remember when she was born.
Gender: Female
Species: Mimikyu (+Skitty Variation)
Nature: Timid
Summary Characteristic: Very Finicky

► PERSONAL LIFE
Magic Motif: Blood Magic - Can shape and control her blood. She can use her blood to cure others, passing their disease to her body and then using her cells to regenerate damaged tissues. This is usually very painful for her, but still, she does it without even thinking twice. She can also use her blood as an offensive "weapon", thickening it into hard blood shards or spraying it over her opponents, burning their skin with the activity of her leukocytes. She has a tattoo on her back that enables her blood to be projected and form some kind of wings that aids her moving evasively.

Personality: Very cautious with her words, Jo is really caring for those who surround her. She can act really motherly around younger pokemon and will try to help them in every way she can. Although her fear for other people, she's really open and sweet around Death Weapons, Meisters and Witches of the PDWMA. Her skills on the battle field are quite unique and, some times when alone, they are pretty useless, since she prefers to stay back and attack from long distance, or simply aid her companions. However, if somebody's life is at risk, she wouldn't hesitate to protect them, like an human shield, even if it meant to be hurt or killed in the process. Her Blood Magic made her not so afraid of death itself, and she can sometimes act really irresponsible with her own physical well being. She's really afraid to loose, to the point were she's constantly looking for her things, making sure she doesn't forget anything behind. She can be really compulsive with that and gets really nervous when she realizes she indeed lost something or somebody. Her "cat curiosity" may make her stare at things or other people, trying to discover what they are, or who they are. This may lead her into distracting so much from her duties that she forgets what she was doing. She's really uncomfortable with the visual state of her body, so she always covers it all with some old bandages from her husband and a pink cloth mimicking Skitty features, never showing what is underneath them.

Likes: Stuffed animals, her lost Husband and Child (who she believes they are okay and alive, somewhere), taking care of others, helping out, studying medicine, listening to other mon's stories, sleeping in high places, playing with interesting objects, meowing, being surrounded by the ones she cares about.
Dislikes: Fire, evil beings, seeing somebody getting hurt, preconception, destruction, people who aren't meisters, weapons or witches of the dwma, that old witch that took everything from her.

Backstory: WARNING - Death by Burning on a Pyre and Death by Disease ahead. Also, dead corpses...

Johanne lived a rather happy life in a rather small town. Since her childhood she was told to never show her witch powers and to stay hidden from the ones the witches called "The Soul Eaters", but she never made a big fuss about that. She didn't care about what others may think of her. Everyday she covered her witch's soul wavelength with a protecting spell and lived her life as happily as any other "normal" human. She grew to be a beautiful young witch and her biggest dream was to be a doctor who could help to heal the injured. Her blood magic made her think she could achieve such dream, and so, she trained hard to heal other's wounds with her magic.

Everyday, she went into the woods, searching for hurt animals so she could help them, and train her newly discovered abilities. The procedure was painful for her, but the silent "thank you" from the animals kept her going on, using her magic for practicing the good. She was excited to try that on humans and to help them recover for any illness, she was so excited for finally discovering a way to heal anything. During one of her daily "patrols" she found a hurt black Rowlet. His wing was torn and hurt by some wild Meowth's bites and scratches. The little thing was barely alive and was in great pain. She came closer to it. Her blood flowed through her skin and penetrated the owl's wounds, making them slowly disappearing from the little creature's right wing and reappearing in the girl's right arm, only leaving behind a scar. The pain was huge, but her cells began to do their work and, in a few minutes, her arm was completely fine. The little owl stared at her in awe, almost like it could understand what just happened. The owl stayed right there, at her side, and since that day he never left the girl alone. Her "gift" was having so much success at that time the forest animals came to her only to get rid of their pain. She could control her magic blood to do whatever she wanted, and as each day passed by, her magic grew in a stronger and faster way.

But unfortunately, there is no strong magic or cure that could heal the aging effects from any living body, and so, the ones who took care of her died in peace, leaving a big old house for the girl. Although hurt for her loss and mournig, the girl turned that old house on her biggest dream. She opened a "Healer House" to the public in that small town. Little by little, the people of the town became aware of her business, and a little bit skeptical about all that, they came to that place to satiate their curiosity. They came ill and left healthy. For the sake of her business, she learnt a way to cover it all up, trying to not let her magic be noticed. First she would ask for the patient to close their eyes during all the procedure, covering their eyes with a cloth. Then she used her blood to transfer the illness to her and, finally, she faked and endured the pain as she offered the final part of her act, a bottle with "alternative medicine" that was nothing more than some sweet flower syrup.

Everything was going pretty well for her, and everybody seemed happy with the new "healer" in the town. However, everything that is good doesn't last for ever...
An old greedy evil witch came across that little town, and seeing that everybody was cheerful and healthy, she decided to blend in, and investigate that strange and only town that didn't seem to get affected by any illness. She discovered that a healer girl was getting everybody fixed up, and through some further investigation with her own petty means she discovered that the girl was nothing more than a witch... A WITCH practicing the good on the humans?! She couldn't dare to believe that, and decided to interfere. Little by little she spread a really soft disease, almost unnoticeable, a disease that someday could grow into something bigger... something only a witch could do...

Some of the townspeople became aware of that. It was so strange that all of the sudden purple spots began to spread through their bodies... Some of them began to suspect from the girl, but nothing too much to act against her... for now. The townspeople tried to go the town's healer, but even she couldn't deal with that curse. The suspicions grew once more when one or two people began to appear more purplish than they should, and the town called somebody to help them... The so called "Soul Eaters", or simply meisters and their weapons for common people. The young witch became aware of it and enclosed herself in the old mansion, remaining hidden from that eminent danger.

The meisters and weapon pairs searched through the town, and even through the old mansion, but they couldn't find anything, so they left. Or so did Jo thought. One day the careless Skitty left her home to buy some groceries at the market, unaware that one single pair of "Soul Eaters" remained. A Meowstic and his Lucario Scythe to be exact. The pair noticed the witch's presence and followed her to her great mansion, ready to kill her. When they finally corned her something big hit the meister's hands, making him let go of his partner. A fresh wound prevented the blue cat from picking up his weapon and the huge Decidueye came again from the shadows and tossed the scythe away from his master. The Meowstic, defenseless and enraged tried to hit the witch with his bare bloody hands. The girl was expected to fend herself, but, instead, she just stood quiet, covering her body with her blood in a shield like protection.

Once the meister hit the shield two or three times, his hands gave up, and he fell on his knees. His partner was nowhere to be seen. Scared and hurt he started to cry. He never thought he would die like that, in the hands of a witch... But the girl simply stood up and walked towards him. He already accepted his destiny, opening his arms, shouting "Kill me at once, please." leaving his body at the witch's mercy. But, for his surprise, the Skitty picked up his hands and did what she always had done, healing the wounded. With a glimpse, she transferred the Meowstic's wounds to her and slowly, in pain, she cured her bloody hands. The meister just stood there, astonished with her reaction. Suddenly, the Lucario rushed into the room where both witch and his meister were standing, he managed to get pass through the huge owl claws and came back to aid his partner. He was expected to see an intense battle between the two and an evil monstrosity of a witch attacking his friend, but, instead, he found the two immobile, quiet, in silence. The Lucario was ready to strike, but the blue cat stood in front of him, protecting the witch. After some explanations, and bumping stubborn heads, the two calmed down, and they both agreed to not hurt the kind witch, to see if it was real that witches could be indeed good persons.

They stayed at her house, recovering from their battle and taking notes from that "strange" witch behavior. They wanted to make sure that it was all true, and not some witch's plan to stab them by their back. The three lived in there for almost a year, and the pair got used to that peaceful life, but they need to keep going... The meister ended up falling in love with the pink cat and, although his partner completely disagreeing with that, he decided to stop his career as meister. After some fights with his weapon the Lucario saw that it was only his friend's wish, and let them be. The meister and the weapon parted ways, and the Lucario came back to the famous DWMA to try to find a new compatible partner and continue with his training. The two, however, always kept in touch as best friends, since they cared for each other deeply.

The girl and the meister ended up marrying to each other, and built their life in that little town. They had a beautiful daughter and were happy for once again. She opened her doors to the wounded again, after so many time, and the Meowtic stayed right by her side, helping her with her job with whatever she needed. Once again the things in the village came back to normality. But that old witch heard about her failed plans, and that the young witch was as happy as never before. Her witch pride made her believe that it wasn't natural for a witch to be this good, so her main purpose became to eliminate that horrid defect of a witch. She once more spread the disease across the town and, eventually, everybody began to suspect of the only one who seemed the one to blame as a witch... Johanne...

The townspeople began to sharpen their tools and light their torches, and marched towards Jo's mansion. Altaiir, Jo's faithful Decidueye came over to warn his owner of what was happening. But there was no escape now for her... The townspeople were already  at their doorstep, chanting hatred songs and complains about killing the witch that doomed them all. Worrying for her lover and daughter's life, the witch decided to sacrifice herself for the sake of their lives and, with her eyes filled with tears, she said goodbye to her husband and loving child. The meowstic refused to leave her behind but she only said "It's me who they want... They will not stop until they get me..." she kissed her husband lips for the last time "Please, protect Athena... please... for me... and promise you'll live a happy life with her...". With his heart tore apart with his lover's last words and a little baby Espurr on his arms, David left that damned place, leaving the love of his life behind at the enraged townspeople's hands. Jo's last wish went to her loyal pet, who sadly looked into her eyes "Don't try to protect me this one last time please... I don't want them to hurt you too...", with a goodbye kiss on the owl's forehead she opened her mansion's doors, letting the townspeople enter one last time.

They burnt the mansion to the ground, without first destroying her medicines and tearing apart the place who once helped them so much. They took her and with ease they hanged her on a pole, strapped against it. The witch did not made any resistance, since she, even there, wouldn't dare to hurt a single living being. Crying the witch begged for mercy, claiming that she had nothing to do with the disease that spread through the town, that she loved her with all her heart, and that she was sorry she couldn't make the mysterious curse dissapear. Her words were coarsely interrupted by a purple man's voice "LIES! That is all lies that is coming from your mouth! I already lost a son tho this damned disease and you did NOTHING but helping it kill my boy..." They didn't listened to her... and burnt her in the pire...

The meowstic eyes stared at the smoke, far away from that mad place. For the old witch's delight, the young good witch has died, and meaning no more business there, she ended the disease, activating it's killer gene and killing everybody that was already infected.

...

For a month Jo's burnt corpse remained there. For a month, the loyal Altaiir scared away the other Murkrows that tried to feed from the only corpse that didn't died from that infectious disease. Her burnt flesh seemed tastier than the infected flesh that spread through the town's floor like a purple river of tissues, bones and organs.

In the last day of May, something unexpected occurred. Right before the mournful eyes of the giant owl, Jo's burnt corpse began to move. Slowly one hand, then it's arm... then the other hand, followed by it's arm... and so on... until the moving corpse cracked it's burnt flesh and felled on her knees. First the loyal owl thought she had just finally felled from the pole, but then his eyes widened with the sight of his owner's eyes slowly opening. She looked at her hands, and then at her body. The once pinkish fur that covered her body was now replaced with black burnt tissue. She scratched away the dead burnt tissues, but all that was underneath it was a black damaged skin... her Blood Magic saved her... but not entirely... She stared at the sky, crying, realizing that she wasn't anymore the beautiful Skitty she once was... she died... she returned as a burnt ghostly corpse... she became a Mimikyu...

From the burnt mansion that now stood on the place were her home once was, she retrieved a piece of cloth and some bandages. With the bandages she covered all her body and with the cloth she sewed and cut it to mimic the Skitty's lovely features and made a hooded dress for her, trying to hide that hideous body.

Surviving with the all the scraps of food Altaiir brought to her she realized that "that thing" was now her body, and she had to live with that. Months passed and she did nothing more than to wander through the forests, trying to find somewhere to stay... or someone... but who?
She slowly regained her memories as the time passed. She remembered about her power to save lives, she how much she loved to use it to help others, she remembered her lovely husband and their beautiful daughter, and worst of all, she remembered the fear she felt towards humans and the pain she felt when they burnt her alive...

For the next couple of years she remained hidden away from other people, living with fear, like a wild animal. Her loyal pet stood always by her side, but even he knew that it wasn't "life" for her. All the wandering brought her to a place close to Nevada, Death City, and she finally gave up of her miserable life as a ghost and collapsed on the ground due to fatigue. The Decidueye remained by her side, scaring once more the intruders that wanted to hurt her or simply to fulfill their curiosity... until he didn't with a particular person...

A man came closer to the body "Johanne?..." he recognized the poor creature, and picked her up to bring her to a safe place, his house. The Decidueye always eavesdropping the two from close distance. Johanne recovered well and finally talked to other than her pet. She also came aware that Luke lost track of his best friend 5 years ago... that time matched the town incident and Jo feared the worst...
She wanted to go and find them... But she was too weak... And her powers aren't the same as they were once before... So she just stayed by the Lucario's side... Finally a companion at least...

One day, a powerful soul rushed through the city towards Luke's house. Lord Death discovered the presence of an unknown witch and decided to take action, wasn't her one of the witches that threaten so much his precious academy. He literally kicked down the door of the Lucario's apartment and was ready to "clean" the witch from Death City but he was suddenly interrupted by that Lucario, who explained to his master what happened and who was she. After a long talk, Lord Death was moved by her story and decided to help her.

"I will give you two choices my child... Go away from the Death City, and live scared and hide from everything and everyone... OR... Make yourself stronger, doing real good the world while strengthen up yourself to find the ones you once lost and stay at the Shibusen, to grow and prosper with us..."

Needless to say she took the second offer...
